Privacy Policy

This document explains what data about you reaches us, where it comes from, why we hold it and what you can do about it. It covers the akademy21.com website. Rules about cookies live in a separate document, linked at the end.

Definitions

Controller

Akademia 21 LLP — the organisation that decides why and how personal data is processed, and answers for it.

Personal data

Any information relating to an identified or identifiable person: a name, phone number, email address, and in certain circumstances online identifiers such as an IP address.

Processing

Any operation performed on data: obtaining, recording, storing, using, disclosing, anonymising, erasing.

Cookies

Small files a site stores in your browser so it can recognise it on your next visit. The detail is set out in our separate cookie policy.

What data reaches us, and how

The site itself collects nothing

There is not a single form on this site: we do not ask for your name, phone number or email, and we take no payments here. The buttons on our pages open WhatsApp, Telegram, your email client or your phone app. While you are simply reading pages, nothing reaches us that could identify you.

When you contact us

By writing to us on a messenger, by email or by calling, you give us a name or handle, a phone number or email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about yourself and your training goals. We use this to reply, suggest a programme and arrange your training. The basis is your own enquiry and the steps leading up to a contract. The messengers and email services themselves handle your correspondence under their own rules, which we do not control.

When you enrol

To conclude a contract and issue your certificate we need your full name and contact details, and depending on the programme, details of your existing education. The basis is performance of the contract and the requirements that apply to educational activity. We receive this through correspondence and paperwork, not through the website.

Technical data about your visit

If you have consented to analytics, Google Analytics collects anonymised information about your visit: which pages were opened, how long they took, what device was used and which country the visit came from. We look at this in aggregate, not person by person. Without your consent, analytics does not run. Fonts and icons are loaded from Google and Cloudflare servers, so those companies see your device’s IP address — an unavoidable consequence of how file loading works on the web.

Why we use it

We process data only for the purposes listed below. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

• to answer your enquiry, suggest a programme and agree the terms;
• to conclude and perform a training contract and issue your certificate;
• to understand in aggregate which parts of the site are used, so we can improve it — only where you have consented to analytics;
• to meet the requirements of education, accounting and data protection law.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and do not pass it to third parties for their own purposes. Some data is visible to the services we use: Google (analytics), Kinescope (video), Cloudflare (site delivery), and the messengers and email services carrying our correspondence. Their servers sit outside Kazakhstan, so data does leave the country. We disclose information to public authorities only on an official request within the law.

Transfers outside Kazakhstan

The services we rely on are hosted abroad: the servers of Google, Cloudflare and Kinescope, and of the messengers carrying our correspondence. This means data leaves the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We choose providers that publicly commit to applicable data protection requirements and pass them the minimum necessary. Using these services, such transfers cannot be avoided entirely, and you are entitled to weigh that when deciding whether to contact us through a messenger.

How long we keep it

Correspondence about enquiries — for as long as it is needed to work with you, and no longer than three years from the last message. Documents connected with training — for the periods set by education and accounting law. Your cookie choice — 180 days. Analytics data — for the periods set by Google Analytics. Once the purpose is met, data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to receive a copy, to have inaccurate data corrected and unnecessary data erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not make earlier processing unlawful. Write to privacy@akademy21.com and we will reply within thirty days. Cookie settings can be changed instantly from the link in the footer of any page.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has told us something about themselves without a parent’s knowledge, write to privacy@akademy21.com and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. The version number and date appear at the top of this page; the current text is always available here.
